Rockingham Raceway Recommendation: Jack Winter of the Georgia Viper Club (who I met at VOI 10) provided the following recommendation: To follow up on our telephone conversation, I participated in the SCCA North Carolina Region PDX at the Rockingham Raceway on September 13. This one day event is a unique opportunity for Vipers negotiate high bank turns (22 degrees) at speed plus a standard road track layout in the infield. The day event includes four 30 minute track sessions for a very reasonable $100 fee for SCCA members. I strongly recommend consideration by your members interested in putting their Vipers on the track. I checked the SCCA North Carolina Region website (http://www.ncrscca.com/index.html) and I did not see any future PDX’s this year but it would be wise to check directly with the Region. Going to YouTube and searching for “Rockingham SCCA PDX” will provide a visual of what will be experienced. An issue that exists with Rockingham as well as other high speed track events is that our convertibles need roll over protection. The aluminum hoops do not qualify. I ran my SRT10 convertible and for those that are interested I have some solutions. If any of your members have any questions, please have them contact me directly by email or phone (404-355-7102).

PEMBROKE CRUISE-IN
Weekly 2008

Henry Jackson wanted me to invite some of our friends to a cruise-in in Pembroke, NC that is held each Thursday evening, 6-8pm. There is a weekly 50/50 and they are currently averaging 25-35 cars weekly. He suggested that if any of you wanted to tag along and ride as a group, to contact him ahead of time to agree on a meeting point. His number is 843-774-7202. "Geraldine" is currently undergoing a AC install and it will be a couple of weeks before were able to get back out.
