New Officer JL Adams!
Club member and Viper enthusiast JL Adams (owner of a 2006 Copperhead Coupe) has graciously volunteered to step into the officer vacancies as the VP, Secretary, and Webmaster! Some of you have met Jim at events last year, such as the dyno days and Triad club dinner. Please check out the club website at http://www.carolinasviperclub.org to see his updates!
Upcoming Events
* March 28-29 – NASA (www.nasaracing.net), at VIR (www.virclub.com) - (Unofficial event) Several club members will be driving at this full course event, while others will be spectating. Since Viper Days will not be at VIR this year, this will be a good opportunity to drive or watch Vipers at VIR. Club member Tom McCormick (moyock4 - AT - hotmail - DOT - com, cell # 757-639-4572) has several VA or NC Viper owners attending and can provide more details on this event.
* April 11 – MOPARS at the Rock, at Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham, NC (www.rockinghamdragway.com) - (Unofficial event) This is a yearly MOPAR event, with club members regularly attending this car show and drag event, and we look forward to seeing many members out there again this year!
* May 9 – Outer Banks Cruise, at the Outer Banks, NC - (Official event) Club member Tom McCormick (moyock4 - AT - hotmail - DOT - com, cell # 757-639-4572) is coordinating a Viper club cruise in the Outer Banks, so for everyone interested, please contact Tom! Lunch paid for by the club!
* May 29-30 – Tail of the Dragon (www.tailofthedragon.com), at Deals Gap, NC - (Official event) This event is a multi-region event, being coordinated by the Carolinas Region, Alabama/Tennessee Region, and Georgia Region. Last year, we had 33 Vipers for a great two day cruise on the Tail of the Dragon (318 curves in 11 miles!), in the Smoky Mountains (including to Clingman’s Dome), and Pigeon Forge! This should be a great event again this year, so be sure to attend! More information to come later, or for current updates, check out details on VCA website www.viperclub.com.
* September 17-20 – Viper Invades Niagara, at Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada - (Official event) This event is being coordinated by the Illinois Region, will be a multi-region event, with 100 slots, and expected to fill up. More details are available on the VCA website www.viperclub.com.
Events to be determined
* (Official event) Charlotte Viper Club Luncheon, time and location TBD – Charlotte area club member Don Smith (magnumman - AT - carolina - DOT - rr.com, 301-643-5588) wants to meet some other local members! So keep on the lookout for a time and location to be determined soon, and feel free to let us know any ideas for this event.
* (Official event) Myrtle Beach Event, time and location TBD – Club member Steve Burrows (sburrows1 - AT - carolina - DOT rr.com, 704-502-1479) wants to gauge interest for a Myrtle Beach cruise/event sometime, so everyone who is interested, please let us know, and let us know any ideas for this event.
Club Accounting
The club started 2008 with $3,535.98, after expenses on club dinners, dyno days events, etc. and income from club dues, started 2009 with $4,564.67. Since we have plenty of money for events, look forward to more free events, and please let us know any event ideas you may have!
